Airlines are looking for new ways to increase revenues to offset high fuel prices. This had led to airlines charging $1.00 for soft drinks and snacks or United Airlines charging $2.00 extra per bag for using curbside check in or Southwest Airlines raising all tickets by $10.00.  The latest gimmick is Northwest Airlines charging $15.00 extra for isle and exit row seats. The airlines are setting aside 5% of the planes seat for this purpose. On the surface this sounds like a good idea but as you know there are responsibilities that come with sitting in the exit rows.

There is a web site called www.seatguru.com that will give you information on any seat or any aircraft including how much leg room, whether those seats reclined, and if there are headphones available, but the site indicates the location of bad seats on any aircraft so next time you will not wide up next to the engine trying to get some sleep. I always use the site to make sure the seat I am purchasing is not located near the restrooms. Please take a look at this site before you purchase your next ticket online or from your travel agent.

Spring is upon us and now is the time to plan that summer road trip. There are lots of hotel chains offering discount for weekend stays. TCA Travel Club web site offers a hotel discount web site where you can save up to 50% off of hotel rooms.
